The Transpersonal Psychology Interest Group (TPIG) of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) is a unique interest group founded on the principals of health and spirituality. This interest group comes together to discuss the latest research on spiritual development, practical techniques and exercises for managing anxiety, depression, fatigue, anger, addiction and spiritual emergencies and they have an on-line discussion forum where their members can dialogue amongst the Australian leaders of the transpersonal psychology field.
TPIG created the event – the Gender, Sexuality, Psychology and Spirituality symposium, which was run by Marvel Events. The first of it’s kind, the symposium explored themes of mental health, masculinity, femininity, divinity, archetypes, queer culture, spiritual growth and finding oneself and God among testing sociocultural environments. The symposium required branding to welcome audiences and be inclusive to all, as the byline suggested ‘Be As You Are’.
The logo contains a mandala design, which is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the Universe. With its perfect symmetry and harmony, this design is bright and positive. Purple, from a colour psychology perspective, contributes to mental balance and stability. The branding was easily recognisable on social media and printed materials and fared well with attendees.
